Norman Talbot
Born in Suffolk, England, and with degrees from Durham and Leeds Universities, Norman Talbot had eleven books of his own poetry published, and himself published many anthologies and books by other authors since he came to Australia in 1963. His work is represented in a number of anthologies. In 2002 he won the prestigious Broadway Prize at the Australian Poetry Festival, with a sonnet-sequence that is included in his last collection Every Sonnet Tells a Story, Koel Koel 2003. It has also been reprinted in the collection of The Best Australian Poetry 2004. He died in January of that year.
